With basic strategies of developing one-of-a-kind products, aggressive global expansion, innovative manufacturing technologies and quality assurance, and investment in personnel development, the MORESCO Group will strive for continued growth to shine on the global stage.

We will concentrate on three particular areas, namely, the environment, information, and energy device fields, and will focus on developing one-of-a-kind products and high value-added items that can compete in the global marketplace.

Aggressive global expansion

We will aggressively expand our special lubricant and hot melt adhesive businesses and other business interests in emerging nations such as China, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam, where continued high growth in fields such as automobile and hygiene products is expected in the future.

Following the increasing overseas expansion of the Japanese automobile industry, we have established a local sales network in China, and are ramping up sales to Japanese, European, American, and Chinese firms. We are furthermore strengthening our development capabilities in China to enhance our ability to respond promptly to changes in market needs, and are working to increase our market share by concentrating on community-focused product development and timely customer service. At the same time, in addition to fortifying our sales network in the still-attractive North American market, we will enhance systems for improving and developing products and providing customer service, and will promote the development of new markets. As an extension of these efforts, we will use Mexico as a foothold to proceed with initiatives eying future expansion into Brazil, a market where future growth can be expected. In the field of hot melt adhesives for use in hygiene products, we will work to expand into the Chinese market. At the same time, we will expand our presence in South East Asia, focusing particularly on Indonesia, which continues to enjoy high rates of economic growth, and has a large population and a high birth rate.

 

Innovative manufacturing technology

Customers in Japan and overseas are placing increasingly stricter demands on quality and cost. At MORESCO, we view this situation as a chance to develop and roll out innovative manufacturing technologies. Accordingly, we will improve quality and enhance our cost competitiveness by developing innovative production processes through a change in mindset. Meanwhile, due to the fact that many of our product groups require special manufacturing methods, it is important that we have optimum response capabilities that can be deployed promptly in the event of a sudden natural disaster. To this end, we will put in place an emergency backup system by working to advance and standardize our manufacturing technologies both in Japan and overseas, and will provide manufacturing services that ensure peace-of-mind.

 

Personnel development

Personnel development is an important issue with regards to continuing current business, developing global business, and pursuing new businesses and other undertakings. With this in mind, in addition to developing employees through day-to-day management, we have included a skills improvement curriculum that imparts communication, leadership, management, and other skills that translate internationally into our stratified training program for new employees, mid-level employees, and managers. Through these initiatives we aim to become a corporate group staffed by employees with a high level of overall ability. Moreover, we will actively promote short-term overseas study tours targeting young employees and on the job training utilizing overseas subsidiaries to adequately develop the potential of personnel at our overseas subsidiaries. At the same time, we will actively undertake to employ staff from overseas and conduct training programs in Japan to train the personnel who will lead the next generation.
